The Idone Angus Farm is owned and operated by Chuck and Dot Idone. The first purebred Angus cattle arrived at the Idone Anugs Farm in December 1988. Our program began with three cows having Scotch Cap and Blackwitch Corbinaire 95 bloodlines. We embarked on an artificial insemination (AI) program with the intention of developing a balanced female herd capable of producing consistent functional bulls and cows with strong mothering traits. We use only proven bulls in our AI program that will maintain balanced growth and carcass traits.

In 2000, we added an embryo transplant program to take advantage of our outstanding cows that have been added to the herd. Our embryo program will follow the same balanced trait criteria established in our AI program. We have entered our bulls in the Calhoun and Tifton Bull Tests every year since 1988 and have used the performance data an aid in determining our AI bull choices for the following breeding season. Our charter is to raise superior Angus cattle that will produce functional bulls that perform well for the commercial cattleman and cows with balanced growth, carcass traits and phenotype that will work both for purebred and commercial operations.
